Do I need a smartphone or an app?
No. Meela works entirely by phone call. If you can make a call, you can get a ride.
How much does it cost?
Membership is $8.25 a month, billed yearly at $99, or $19 month to month. Each ride is the fare plus a Meela service fee, and we tell you the full price before you book. Members get $10 off a round trip every month.
When do I pay?
You add a card when you set up your account, and your membership starts with a 3-day free trial. You only pay for a ride after you hear the price and say yes.
Do you serve my area?
Meela is available across 95% of the country. Only the most rural areas are not covered yet, and we check your address when you sign up.
Is Meela covered by insurance or Medicare?
Meela is self-pay, so no insurance is needed. We do not bill Medicare or Medicaid.
Can my family book rides for me?
Yes. Family can help you sign up and book rides. We just need to hear your okay once, directly from you.
Can you send a wheelchair-accessible van?
Not yet. If you use a walker or cane, your driver will know before they arrive.
