How it works

Three steps. That's it.

1

Add your info

Create your account with your address and any needs — a walker, hearing, vision, whatever it is. Just once, ever.

2

Call for your ride

No app, no typing. Just call whenever you need to go somewhere.

3

Go

A driver who already knows your needs picks you up and gets you there.

Meela vs. Uber

Built with seniors in mind

The rideshare that remembers, so you never explain twice.

Your needs, spoken not typed

Tell your concierge once — a walker, hearing loss, low vision, whatever it is — and it's relayed before every pickup. No re-explaining at the curb.

A call, not a countdown timer

No watching an ETA tick down. Ask for a call the moment your driver pulls up, every time, automatically.

Know the price before you go

Your concierge tells you the full ride cost — fare plus service fee — before you book. No app to squint at, no guessing.

And whatever else comes up

Groceries to carry in, a walker to fold, a regular pharmacy stop — tell your concierge and it becomes part of your standing profile.

In their words

"I just call, and my concierge sorts it out"

★★★★★

With the Uber app, I never knew if I'd typed my address right, and the price would jump right when I needed a ride most. Now I just call, and my concierge sorts it out.

★★★★★

The "call on arrival" request has been the biggest help — I don't have to squint at my phone trying to match a car color to a tiny map dot.

Told once, remembered always

Your needs travel with every ride

During setup, your concierge notes what matters — a walker or cane, hearing or vision needs, extra time getting in and out, anything at all.

From then on, it's relayed before pickup automatically. You never type it into an app again.

Request a call the second they arrive

Turn it on once in your ride preferences, and your driver calls instead of leaving you to spot a car in a parking lot.

It's one of the small preferences your concierge sets up for you — no need to ask again.

Every detail confirmed out loud

Before every trip, your concierge confirms your pickup, destination, and any special instructions out loud — nothing gets typed into an app and hoped for the best.

Updates can also be texted to a family member you choose.

Questions, answered

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a smartphone or the Uber app?+

No. Meela is designed to work entirely by phone call. If you can make a call, you can request a ride — no Uber app required.

What if I use a walker or cane, or have a hearing or vision need?+

You tell your concierge once, during setup. From then on, it's saved to your profile and relayed before every pickup — you never have to mention it again.

Who actually drives?+

Rides are provided through a licensed, insured rideshare network. Your concierge relays your needs before pickup, so whoever picks you up already knows what to expect — you never have to explain it yourself.

How much does it cost?+

Membership is $8.25/month and covers your concierge. Each ride is billed separately at the standard fare plus a small service fee, shown to you before you book — members save $2 off that fee on every ride. Full pricing details are at meela.ai/pricing.

Do you offer a free trial?+

We don't use a countdown-clock trial. Most rides aren't booked within the first week of signing up, so a 7-day trial doesn't really match how people use Meela. Instead, your first 5 trips come discounted — $5 off each way — whenever you actually take them, plus you can cancel anytime with no penalty.

What if I need a refund after I'm charged?+

You'll always get a reminder before your charge goes through. If that's still not enough and you need your money back afterward, just call your concierge — there's a refund window for that too. No tricks, ever.

Can I schedule repeat rides?+

Yes — save any regular trip once (a weekly appointment, church, the pharmacy) and book it again in seconds.

Can I ask my driver to call when they arrive?+

Yes. Turn it on once in your ride preferences and it applies automatically to every future ride.

Is this just for me, or can family sign up on my behalf?+

This page is set up for you to sign up for your own rides. If a loved one or a senior living community wants to set it up for you instead, they can do that separately.

How is Meela different from Uber?+

Uber's app puts the booking, tracking, and any special requests on you. Meela is a phone-based concierge: tell us your needs once, talk to someone who already knows you, and see your full price — fare plus service fee — before you book.

Do I need an Uber account to use Meela?+

No. You never need a smartphone, an app, or a rideshare account of your own — your concierge handles the booking for you over the phone.

Stop wrestling with the Uber app.

$8.25/month gets you a concierge who knows your needs and handles the calling. Rides are billed separately, and members save $2 on every one.
