Meela Rides is a service that gets you a ride with just a phone call. Call the number, say where you want to go, and a friendly voice on the line takes care of the rest, no apps, no buttons, no screens to figure out.

How do I request a ride?

Once you have an account and a card on file, you can call Meela at our standard business hours at 844-415-5550. Simply tell me where you would like to be picked up and where you would like to go, and she'll confirm the price as well as the details about the ride before completing the booking.

Do I need a smartphone or app?

No. Meela is desgined to work entirely by phone call. If you can make a phone call, you can request a ride.

Who will be driving me?

Your ride is provided through one of our TNC like Uber and Lyft. They will match you with a vetted driver in their network who has been background checked. Meela handles the request and keeps you updated by phone the whole way.

How much does a ride cost?

Meela does everything we can within to provide transparency around pricing. We do not charge a subscription fee.

What if something goes wrong during my ride?

Call Meela back any time, before, during, or after your ride, and help will be sorted out or you will be connected to someone who can. We are always just a phone call away.

You can set up their account and preferences for them, including saved addresses, favorite destinations, and any special assistance notes. Once it is set up, they only need to make a call.

Will I be notified when a ride happens?

Yes. You can choose to receive a notification when a ride is booked, when it begins, and when your loved one arrives safely.

Can I add a payment method on their behalf?

Yes. You can manage billing so your loved one never has to handle payment details themselves. If you would prefer to have them add their credit card information instead, that is also an option. Just do not add your card information during the sign up flow, and instruct them to add it in when they are validating their account.

How do you vet drivers for safety?

Rides are provided through Uber's Lyft's network, which require background checks and vehicle standards for every driver. Meela Rides adds an extra layer of care by confirming details out loud before every trip and additional checks on each ride.

What does it cost, and who is billed?

Meela charges a straightforward, upfront service fee on top of the standard fare. Billing goes to whichever payment method you set up, so there are no surprises for either of you.

Can Meela Rides handle my parent's doctor's appointments?

Absolutely, Meela can be used for transportation to and from medical appointments and can help promote older adult independence, so that you just need to call them when they're at the doctor, not be part of the entire journey.
