Rides for seniors in Indianapolis
Getting around Indianapolis as an older adult usually means choosing between public programs with eligibility rules and advance booking, volunteer drivers with limited availability, or a rideshare app. Here's what's available in Indianapolis, and where Meela fits.
How seniors get around
Paratransit: IndyGo Access
IndyGo Access is Indianapolis's ADA paratransit service. It's a shared-ride option for people whose disability makes regular buses or trains hard to use. Age alone doesn't qualify you. You apply, get approved, and usually book trips a day or more ahead.
Local aging services: CICOA Aging & In-Home Solutions
CICOA Aging & In-Home Solutions connects older adults in the Indianapolis area with transportation help, including programs for medical trips and errands. Availability and eligibility vary, so call ahead.
